I've appreciated the discussion on the Imirie Shim, particularly the
comparison with holes in the brood boxes. I only have one hive, and it came
pre-drilled, though I guess I don't make adequate use of these additional
hive entrances.

I looked at the drawing of the Imirie Shim that was referenced in a post
and I'm curious why it doesn't cause problems by violating bee space
between the frame tops and bottoms. Do folks using this get addition comb
build-up between the boxes?
