Bill H, the math is straightforward for a colony with zero sealed brood.
30,000 bees X 1 mite/300 bees = 100 phoretic mites.  If you got 100% kill,
you'd see 100 mites on the stickyboard.

Bill T--could you please tell us the n's--as I'm curious about your high
winter survival rate in your cold-winter environment.  How many hives were
involved?
