Mike Palmer's method works with ambient temperture 'cold' water, as well as
with hot water.  The difference is that after initial mix, let the
bucket(s) sit for at least 2 hours, then stir again.  100% will be
dissolved and perfect 2:1.

The fastest method I have seen is to use an extractor.  Close gate, add
water, then add sugar as the extractor is turning.  Can add sugar as fast
as you can as long as the extractor will keep turning.  When dissolved,
open gate and pour into buckets.

Best of all, of course, is to buy liquid sucrose by the barrel.  When I am
fall feeding that is what I do, making sure I buy enough to use for feeding
nucs the next spring.  Sucrose (NOT corn syrup) will keep fine over the
winter.
