I have had the same experience with plastic combs. I find in order for them
to draw them you can't give them any choice.
We have a good fall honey flow which we leave on the bees for the winter. I
just crowd them and it leaves them little choice but to draw it out.
Do not mix wax or drawn comb as they will just draw them out extra deep and
you will have a mess. After they are drawn use them like any other drawn
comb
