excessive moisture in winter hives is detrimental to the health of the bees
then why is not harmful to squirt or dribble any kind of a solution into
the hive and onto the bees in the middle of the winter?

Never thought of it Bill, normally the dribble is done in fall, not in the
middle of winter. Done before the bees are tightly clustered, so I doubt
that a few ml of water would hurt. My next article addresses OA
vaporization for midwinter treatment.
