bill asked:  I guess the question is what will a hot water heating element 
do to the heat-exchange fluid?

Couldn't tell you Bill.  I'm catching up on mail--I've been mailed privately 
that there are manufacturers that use mineral oil for a heat exchange fluid, 
but I don't know what type of element that they use.
