me thinks some of the hype is also generated by bee organizations who wisely are using the "crisis" 
to push along badly needed government research monies related to honeybees and pollination. 

private business who offer consulting and solutions to bee health issues also have been active in 
promoting the extended crisis when in fact no crisis exists at all in obtaining bees.

and what I assume is BBKA's leverage of the "crisis" to work the government system.
