I have 100 hives and let gravity and the sun do the separating, by letting
the cappings fall from the uncapper into a black painted tank that is moved
to the sun. Not as efficient as a spinner but far less costly and adequate
for your 40 hives I would think. The loss of honey is compensated for the
minimal investment in equipment.
