Not long ago, someone posted a study on upper entrances taken from the
American Bee Journal in 1985.

In the study, the lower entrance was sealed and a conical drone escape
installed on the brood box. The upper entrance was above a queen excluder.
The url is:

Does anyone have the dimensions of a drone escape?
