Species     - Mellifera (Honey bearing)
Race        -ligustica (Italian)
(European)  -carnica   (Carniolian)
            -caucasia  (Caucasian)
            -mellifera (German)  (there are other races of European bees)

            -intermissa
            -unicolor
            -capensis
            -monticola
            -scutellata
 
(Asian)     -gandhiana

            -japonica
