My daughter in law noticed a drowned bumblebee floating in about an inch
of water in the bottom of a wine glass. Somehow a bumblebee had got into
their house, landed in the glass, drank too much water and drowned? The
question she had, which I could not answer, which I'm send to you, was,
what are all those little "mites?" which are either attached to the bee
or else swimming in the water next to the floating bug? There must have
been 40 or more little brownish mite like critters present, about 4
would equal the size of 1 varoa mite.
Location: about half way between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and
about 75 miles north of the U.S. Can. boarder. Dat's up in Canada, "EH"?
Any ideas? This Bugs me.
