Hello Alden & All,

> Bob,
Do you think Ozone fumigation would work?

Sorry for the late reply Alden as busy time of year!

I would guess many types of sterilization would work against a protozoan.

Amoeba disease ( documented disease of honey bees) has been looked at before
concerning *disappearing disease* through the years but little actual
research has been done.

In my opinion if a problem has been documented in the Malpighian tubules of
adult bees by the CCD researchers then the age old question of Amoeba
Disease ( which we know very little about and different opinions exist on
the subject around the world) has to come into the picture * again*.

In other words in the years before mites & chemicals in bee hives when the
beekeeping problems were easier to diagnose most roads led researchers to
Amoeba Disease for a possible cause of Disappearing disease.

The possible contagious nature of the CCD problem would fit a protozoan
disease passed from bee to bee.

There are many other protozoans which are known to be associated with honey
bees.

Sincerely,
Bob Harrison
