Anecdotal reports here in the UK (from a very well respected source) suggest 
that many who have bought Carniolans in recent years have lived to regret 
it.  Initially quite docile, subsequent generations have proved to be very 
aggressive.  Unfortunately, many beginners have been misled by the adverts 
of those selling the Carniolans.

Something that I find really disapponting is that the BBKA, far from 
supporting our native bee, has Carniolans in its own apiary at BBKA 
Headquarters, Stoneleigh.

Even our own National Bee Unit has done nothing to actively promote native 
bees - even though it recognises that imports can bring in exotic diseases.
