For whatever it's worth, contrary to the popular image of bears attacking
bee nests to get at the honey, they're really after the brood.  At least
according to one of the beekeeping books I've read.  This is definitely
true for skunks (they're insectivores, they often dig holes in people's
lawns to get at the grubs in the ground.
