Do you see a bunch of dead bees out front? If your hives were five frames
strong I'm sure they would have defended themselves. If you don't see any
dead bees or fighting, maybe your queens had some Italian drones mate with
them. If you don't want to open up the hive and check, look to see if any
of the yellow bees are carrying in pollen. If you write back with more of
that type of detail, I'm sure someone can help you.
