Here’s a 2 page article  from ‘The Beekeeper’s Quarterly’ a few years back I recently stumbled

As far as moving eggs, both Mark Winston and Eva Crane do write, and give sources in their 
bibliographies, that it does sometimes happen. 

 (....and of course there is a lot of discussion in the archives as to whether or not that occurs.)
