Old Chinese curse:

*May you be recognized by people in high places.*
In essence, keep your head down. Not so long ago with the Alar scare the
gov asked for pple orchards that had sprayed it to let them know then they
published the results! The farmers who were compliant saw their business go
down the drain while those who did not report were fine.

Tends to leave a lasting impression on how the "government is there to help
you".

I saw the same on my property when I allowed some DEP people to canvass the
river front and they cam back with a list of "threatened" species which
promptly was used by the city planner to extend setbacks from the river in
order to reduce them in the City (where there was more impact on the
river). All politics.

The "threatened species"?- they were threatened because this is the
northernmost part of their habitat. Go south a bit and they are plentiful.
Coconut trees are on the endangered list here in Maine, but then we can
only hope that Global Warming is real, according to the models, and I can
grow some.

Having said all that- I register my bees. But I can see why some do not.

Bill Truesdell - who lives where the models for the storm we are currently
in differ from channel to channel. Even the National weather service keeps
changing their forecasts.
Bath, ME where global warming has us at 15F this morning and 4" of snow so
far.I thought snow was a thing of the past.
