Hi all,

ARCUS is a leadership development program designed and tailored for
emerging leaders in the cultural heritage, public history, and historic
preservation movement writ large. We define emerging leader broadly,
previous program participants run the gamut including upper division
undergraduate and graduate students, Executive Directors and other staff in
historic preservation nonprofits, managers and technicians in cultural
resources management, municipal planning staff, and participants in
grassroots advocacy organizations. The common thread is that ARCUS Fellows
are consciously developing their leadership potential and see leadership
and management skills as important to their trajectory in historic
preservation. We offer a series of dynamic, engaging workshops and a year’s
access to online courses and networking opportunities for individuals who
seek to become more effective leaders. Our courses cover more general
leadership topics ranging from administration (budgeting, fundraising) to
"soft skills" (public speaking, team building). The Spring 2021 Fellowship
workshops will focus on Developing an Inclusive and Antiracist Approach to
Cultural Heritage Leadership. ARCUS Fellows earn a certificate for
completing training.
