Pete B quote " The presence of Artemisia pollen vouches for this; as most ragweed sufferers know, this pollen is wind-borne. "
I am not surprised Artemisia pollen was found, and in such quantity, and believe what it vouches for is the presence of the extreme drought conditions in RI this past honey season.
I have witnessed my own bees foraging on ragweed flowers during 2 seperate drought year events not 30 miles southwest of RI and collecting both ragweed pollen and nectar while foraging the flowers. Whilst wind-borne it is also foraged on by honey bees as, I suspect, are other wind-borne pollens.
