I measured some jzbz queen cups. I found the bottom id at 6.75mm, the middle at 7.4mm and the very top opening was 8.25mm. All measurements subject to some error as I was just eyeballing where I placed the calipers. I suspect this taper has nothing at all to do with queens. Rather, I suspect it was designed in on purpose to allow the part to eject from the mold with ease.
I also tried to drill some out. It is pretty easy to drill them out to a constant internal diameter of 8.7mm. Just grip the flange radially with pliers and use a high rpm with a standard twist drill bit. I used the fast speed on my cordless drill. Next graft I will try a few and see if I even get any takes with the larger diameter.
