> I released both queens manually
I rarely release any queen manually. A slimmed-down queen may fly when
released, and a fat queen may take off running, eliciting aggressive
behavior from the bees.
I find it best to always delay release, if only for an hour after you close
the hive. A little ball of queen candy, a piece of miniature marshmallow,
or a crumpled clover leaf work fine for such a delay.
