I'm in Alabama, about 1/2 way between Montgomery and Mobile. Normally we have an early pollen source with several plants, the two major that I know of being Henbit and Wild Mustard. Red Maple also comes on pretty early. These plants start pollen production in the the very first part of January. Last year though, I saw bees bringing in pollen in mid December and except for a few short, sharp freezes, the bees continued bringing in pollen for the rest of that spring year.
