I think this was discussed in BeeGadgeds some time ago. The Idtag in
question here was the
Hitachi RFID tag http://www.rfidjournal.com/article/articleview/337/1/1/,
which is in need for an external antenna to be reed some feeds away. By the
way I see this as a possible solution for hive parts to unique identifying
this. Because this can be embedded into paper, it should also be possible to
put into hive parts. I do not think this will stop theft but only will help
if stolen items are coming forward.
For tracking of hive parts I think that James Fischers Bunker system
http://www.bee-quick.com/bee-quick/rpt3/test.html
could be used even if I am not very pleased by this Big brother system. By
the way the system is food for thoughts.
