Mats mentioned favorably the composer Andreas Hallen, born in the mid 1800's. I noticed on a music sales web site a Musica Sveciae disc devoted to his music. The recording contains his Rhapsody for Orchestra no. 2, a symphonic poem called "Toteninsel", and some excerpts from Act Three of the opera "Harald der Wiking" which Mats also spoke well of. There were a few sound samples, and it all sounded pretty good (for sound samples). Is the Musica Sveciae disc a good place to start with Hallen? Any other available Hallen cds to recommend? I did recognize some similarity to Wagner which Mats noted. Don Satz [log in to unmask]
