These are some interesting new releases which should be available in the
USA by mid-January:

Mozart piano concertos nos.  5, 14, and 16 (Levin/Hogwood/Decca) - I've
been buying each volume in this series; it's very good. I do find
Bilson/Gardiner more exciting, but Levin/Hogwood provide a richer sound
which always goes down well with Mozart concerti.

Lekeu chamber works on Arts - I still have not acquired any Lekeu discs;
this should be the first one. My Arts collection is relatively barren.

Bach violin and harpsichord sonatas (Ronez/Kubitschek) - this is on the
Winter & Winter label.  I've become quite a fan of this record company;
I loved their Schubert piano trios recordings and Bach cello suites set.

Shostakovich complete string quartets (Emerson/DG) - This should be a
very interesting set. I noticed that DG has already issued a "single"
having just one of the quartets, but I'm waiting for the whole loaf.

Mahler's symphony no. 4 (Bonney/Chailly/Decca) - I think that Chailly's
previous Mahler recordings have been fine, and Bonney just might be great
for the 4th movement.

Shebalin's string quartets, volume 1 (Olympia) - I posted with questions
about this composer - no response. Regardless, I want to try him out, and
string quartets are a good way for me to get in touch with a composer.

Happy Listening,
