Allen's post is on the money, I  have never heard of any big operation
having time
to "dry supers" they extract and store them. They go on in spring/summer and
it is
just as Allen said.   I have never noted any granulation  year to year in
the 4 years I've
worked for a commercial beekeeper (2500 hives)  and also in my own
operation.
The myths mentioned and unmentioned make beekeeping seem more complicated
than it really is.
