Here, here! I am seeing a mom tommorrow that has twins. She has been supplementing since their birth 8wks ago because they were "dehydrated" on day 3. Mind you when I asked if they had been peeing and pooping she said yes to both ("lots of poops"). And did they use an SNS to supplement OF COURSE NOT they used bottles, not even a finger feeder. Anyway that's neither here nor there just an example of more mismanagement at well known Boston hospitals. Then upon discharge she saw an LC who suggested Fenugreek which she tried and when she didn't see enough of a boost the LC prescribed Reglan. And she had been using a pump (not sure why, I guess also to increase supply but she has willing and able babies to do that!) GEEZ, I think all this mom needs is to keep the babies at the breast. Now of course since they're used to an extra 3oz after breastfeeding she'll have to use an SNS till she is confident she is making enough for them. Am I off base here?
