Judy How lucky these teachers and staff are to have you on their side. I do not have any studies or research to cite, just an idea. I think very young babies (up to 4 - 6 mos??)could be allowed to be in the classroom w/ mom. If everyone goes for this policy, that would be great. More illness if baby is w/ all the older kids. This would lead to more absenteeism etc. How about expanding the daycare for the older infants/children to a bigger room(s) and having some sort of curriculum where the older high school students could participate as child carers.? By this I mean like a Family Life curriculum/Early Childhood whatever and have the students rotate thru caring for the children and earning credit.? Just a thought.
