John Smyth laments >Recently I submitted a posting regarding Schoenberg's "Moses and Aron," >which did not generate even one public response. I read and reread Mr Smyth's posting and found that it mostly contained some mythical experience involving Steve, Don, and Derek. Although it went on and on, little of it contained any serious discussion of the Opera. I note that Steve Schwartz, perhaps out of sympathy, relented, and gave his opinion of the work. Mr Smyth's posting didn't seem to call for any serious response. As a matter of fact it was a bit "cliquish" if you will pardon the expression. As for Schoenberg's Moses and Aaron - it's a "sleeper" for sure (IMO) and I'll pass judgement. Also, in my opinion, the discussion's on Beethoven's skin color and Public radio was very enlightening and spoke to most of us. Ed (not among the barbarians) Beach
