It was the one on Brendel's Great Pianists of the 20th century disc. The radio announcer said it was from 1995 and I think it's the one used for B's latest complete Beethoven sonata set. Unfortunately B has said he's not going to record another one. I've also listened to his earlier op 106 from the '70s (again with a disappointing fugue) and thought this time his playing was generally much more colourful and spontaneous. I still think Ernst Levy's interpretation on Marston is, despite the limited dynamic range of the recording and a first movement which therefore sounds slightly stodgy, the most powerful and convincing I have heard.
