Wilhelm Kempff has come in for a huge amount of criticism elsewhere on
the 'net, mostly for technical limitations. (It's remarkable to see how
consensuses differ from list to list, even when devoted to the same topic.)

His recording of Brahms' Opp. 116-119 is fine, but has worn a little for
me over time, and is a bit harsh-sounding in sections. He doesn't plumb
the depths of Op. 119 as deeply as Radu Lupu, for one example.
