This is an open letter to Lactnet, ILCA, IBLCE and other lactation mailing lists with which I am associated: I would like to let you all know that the Borneo Post (Indonesia) newspaper has printed an article about lactose intolerance on Friday July 9, 1999. The article was written by me for publication by the Nursing Mothers' Association of Australia (NMAA) and the re-publication by the Borneo Post is completely without my permission, or NMAA's permission and also without the knowledge of either. What makes matters worse, is that it appears in the newspaper to be attributed to Nestle, and is accompanied by a large Nestle advertisement for a toddler formula. I am assuming that the article was lifted from the NMAA web site, where it was posted recently. I would like it to be known that I *do not* write for Nestle. (The thought of this makes me feel quite ill.) They also truncated my credentials, including (probably fortunately) omitting IBCLC and NMAA Breastfeeding Counsellor. I and NMAA are presently considering what action is appropriate to deal with the situation. ****************************************************************** Joy Anderson B.Sc. Dip.Ed.
