Aren't these exquisite? So evocative, great melodies, and orchestral
accompaniment done perfectly.  Surely a match for any of the
late-19th-century lieder masters.  "He shall assist me to look higher."

Yes, I'm referring to EMI D121544, Sir John Barbirolli conducting the
LSO and Jacqueline du Pre in the concerto, and Dame Janet Baker in Sea
Pictures.  According to BBC Music Magazine, this 34-year-old recording
is No.  3 on the British best-seller list.  This must be a candidate
for EMI's GROC series.
