I think the real issue in keeping babies from sleeping after a head injury is one related to unobserved, prolonged sleep. There is no way to keep a baby from napping at the breast. When I was an ER nurse, we told moms to wake the baby every hour or so and look at pupils to make sure they were the same size and reactive to light. If a mom is holding a baby, she will know if that child stops breathing and if there is a seizure. I would strongly discourage letting baby sleep alone and unobserved after a head injury...and this goes for older kids too.
