I got up and left saying, "I've spent >thousands of dollars in this store over the past year. Now you won't get >an additional cent." Right, what does he care? I will have to come to the defense of the manager's reasoning, if not his methods. Record labels and most if not all retail chains hold release dates sacred. This is so that no one store will have an unfair advantage over another where hot new releases are concerned. This is especially vital in the popular field. Imagine what would happen if a store put out the new Star Wars soundtrack a day early! Perhaps the manager could have used more tact, but spending lots of maney in a store does not give a customer (any customer) the right to break rules that are designed to benefit all concerned.
