What is the reason and the dose for the treatment with methotrexate ?
One study about it, about a mother who received 22,5 mg/day for a
choriocarcinome. Ratio moil/plasma was 0,08, and the cumulative excretion in
breast milk in the first 12 hours was only 0,32 µg. The passage is very low,
but the methotrexate is very toxic, and breastfeeding is contrindicated when
the mother is treated for a cancer.

Methotrexate is used too at low doses for arthritis or autoimmunologic
disorders. In this case, beastfeeding is possible as the level in breast
milk is insignificant. Infant has to be monitored (anemia), and folic acid
can be given to him.

It has half live is 2 to 8 hours.
