I just received an update on Jeanine Klaus' condition from her husband (or it could have been her son; both are called Rich!) :-) Here (in part) is what he shared with me. I want you all to know how things are. If you want to write her a get well message, see how much she appreciated the first batches.... I just wanted to thank you for putting the note on on Lacnet regarding Jeanine's condition. The notes from all the folks have been great! I've printed them and taken them ito Jeanine so she could see the support she has from all the people she has worked with over the years.. The notes from the folks in Memphis , Atanta ,and Chicago had her in tears as she thought back on all the great times she had with each of them. The good news is that she is doing better every day. She will be in the hospital for another 10 to 15 days and recovery will take months, but she's as determined as ever to beat this thing. As the nerves begin to come back to some type of funtion she does experience some pain and unusual sensation. She has been complaining about her facial muscles hurting. Fact is she's even more talkative then normal (if you can belive it). I really think her jaw muscle is just tierd from telling the nurses and doctors what to do. She's relentless...... I also wanted to thank you for finding the mothers milk. We recieved our first shipment a day or so ago and Jeanine is convinced that it will make all the difference. Our doctor is a bit scptical but whenJeanine got done with her the doctor had a new respect for beastfeeding and for that matter Jeanine. You'd be proud to see how she's dealing with this. She's determined to find some good in what has happened. If anybody can she will. Thanks again for all the support. You've been great!! Isn't that GREAT news! I look forward to reading a note from Jeanine herself one of these days. For those of you new to the list and/or her condition, Jeanine contracted Guillain Barre syndrome and has been hospitalized most of the month of March and all of April (so far). mailto:[log in to unmask] "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
