This is Alexander Von Zemlinsky(1871-1942). His works take up over 1
column in Schwann Opus - not too shabby. Zemlinsky is a late romantic
composer whose works have been recorded with some frequency in recent
years. I think very highly of him and recommend his chamber works,
symphonies, vocal works, and operas.

His overall reputation is of course lower than Mahler, Strauss, etc. I
first became acquainted with him on a Koch disc having two of his string
quartets. Chailly on London and Conlon on EMI have recorded a few discs
with Conlon just recently issuing a disc of Zemlinsky choral works.
