Bob Kasenchak writes of a book translating composers' names into English,
and mentions Bedrich Smetana meaning literally Fred Sourcream.

The Czech word "smetana" means simply cream. Sour cream in Czech would be
"kysela smetana," or more usually "kysely krem." But "smetana" is sometimes
used by itself to denote sour cream when it is implied in the context, much
as we might order "fries" at McDonald's when we mean "French fries."
