The Schwann Opus catalog is a good reference for recorded works for trombone currently available. Having interviewed some years ago for a newspaper article the noted Norwegian trombonist Per-Christian Brevig, I am somewhat biased in his favor, but his recording of the Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra by Walter Ross should knock your socks off. There was also a while back a CD of Brevig and others performing Robert Starer's bouncy Concerto a 3 for Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone and Strings. I don't think you will have a problem finding recordings to inspire your students. John Dalmas [log in to unmask]
