Geoffrey Gaskell wrote of Brahms first concerto:

I was thrilled when Sony reissued the pair of Brahms piano concertos with
Fleisher and Szell.  I know of no better performance of the first than this
one.  Szell seemed to own this piece.  The chemistry between Szell and
Fleisher is something to marvel at.
