Actually the only organization that can implement an increase in prereqs to sit the IBLCE exam is IBLCE! ILCA may be a professional association, but it is not responsible for administering the exam or determining what experience or educational level is required. It can (through its members) offer suggestions, recommendations and the like, but that is all. If you want the prereqs and experiential background increased, you must share your concerns/preferences with IBLCE. I strongly recommend you do just that. Asan individual. Remember, one individual is considered to represent about 25 others who didn't have the time, make the time, or bother to express their opinions. When an organaization makes a recommendation, it may be from ONLY the executive and thus may not carry nearly the weight of a similar number of individuals independently writing. Don't get me wrong. Association backing is helpful, but does not mean nearly as much as individuals in the field sharing what they have observed re: what I call the 1-, 3-, and 5-day wonders that I have also seen.... mailto:[log in to unmask] "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
