Dear Barbara,

Anything would be worth a try - how about an SNS?  Maybe there will be
more lumps, maybe not.  Are they resolving at all with
heat/massage/nursing?  You say this mom realizes that she needs to
supplement, but that the baby is gaining poorly. Does this mean that she
has not started to supplement yet?   She needs to supplement NOW and
continue to work on her supply.  I am all in favor of avoiding formula if
possible, but 12 days is way too long, IMO, to deprive a baby of needed
calories.  Have you done any test weighs to see about how much this baby
is actually getting at the breast?
