How about picking up on the theme of World Breastfeeding Week - The Best Investment. Often people are very surprised to learn that breastfeeding offers advantages not only to mother and baby but to the community as a whole. You could mention environmental benefits, economic benefits to the household, and to the healthcare system through reduced hospitalizations, and savings to the community through reduced dependence on social support structures. Plus the incalculable value to society of healthy, well-nourished children. Etc. INFACT's World Breastfeeding Week Action Kit has more detail on these themes. In my experience, no matter aspect of breastfeeding you discuss, at least one of the "old chestnuts" usually comes up, particularly if it is a call-in show, ie. guilt, sore nipples, worries about low milk supply. So it's best to have well-prepared answers for these. Good luck. Jean Geary Fundraiser INFACT Canada [log in to unmask] www.infactcanada.ca
