Regarding the study linking moms having one drink a day with decreased large motor development at one year. I have seen this study quoted for years as a reason to avoid all alcohol during breastfeeding. If my memory is correct, it seems that no difference was found in cognitive development or in later large motor development. Does anyone remember the details of this study? Was it a large study? Was it well-designed? And has it been replicated? Why are we so ready to recommend something so drastic based on this one study? I'm not aware of any others. It's so important to normalize breastfeeding and not make it seem too difficult to moms! Studies on other topics related to breastfeeding (for instance, the one on post-exercise milk that got so much press) have been repeated with different results. Does anyone know of any later studies on this? Miriam <[log in to unmask]>
