science is useful in that it is often offers a key to deeper understanding
which can open doors to the exquisite beauty of the world around us.
 
does it have practical everyday use?  hasn't anyone ever asked you how your
bees know where they are going?
where do you draw the line between science and 'everyday stuff that you
need to know'?  does a beekeeper NEED to know how bees navigate?  only if
she wants to really celebrate the wonder of bees in yet another way!
