Estrogen is the milk inhibiting factor in oral combination birth control pills. I have been recently doing some research on them and have many articles that say that estrogen will decrease moms supply. I have 4 moms to date , working moms, who were pumping with good double pumps, started the combo pill and in 7 - 14 days noticed a dramatic drop in supply,, stopped the pill, took fenugreek ( 2 of them did) increased pumps and nursing s and got milk back, the o ne doc that was doing this, stated that not too long ago ACOG released a tech bulletin thats stated that if milk supply was well established , combo pills were ok , I am unable to access the bulletin on the web because you need to be a physician, any docs on here , can you access it????? I would love to see it. Any way , i spoke with this MD , and he going to start fully informing moms of this side effect! -- ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^ Cindy Curtis , RN, IBCLC ~ Virginia , USA ICQ # 412812 mailto:[log in to unmask] Benefits of Breastfeeding Home Page http://www.erols.com/cindyrn
