Dear Lactnetters: I'm going to balance out my image as a hard edge politico now with a personal story. Last evening, after a particularly difficult tantrum thrown by my otherwise pretty darn good 4-yo daughter, Emily, she was sitting quietly on my lap. Here's how the conversation went: E: I want some warm milk in a bottle (yes she was breastfed till 2 yrs, but she also got a bottle) M: We don't have any bottles. Your a big 4 year old, and don't need bottles. E: Well, they have bottles for 4 year olds. M: No they don't. E: Well, I want warm milk. That's why I like to nurse. M: My body doesn't make milk any more. That was when you were a little baby. E: Well, you could have saved a little for me and I could suck it out. M: I don't have any more. E: Well, maybe we could find someone who makes chocolate milk and I could nurse. M: Mommies don't make chocolate milk. I don't make any milk any more. But we can still sit and cuddle. E: Okay.... could I have a popsicle?.... Fascinating! I knew she was really groping for something that would help her feel better after screaming for 15+ minutes. In another note, thought you all might like a little more info about the bikini. As for the bikini... well, I've been realigining my lifestyle towards less fat, less food and more exercise for the past year and a half. This year's goal is a Victoria Secret Wonderbra Push-up Bikini. I've never worn a bikini before, having very well-expressed German genes. At 34, I figure it's now or never. I'm not into anorexia, just being fit. Just sign me "Buffy" (as in buffed). --Doraine (Who had early on resolved not to waste Lactnetters time and money on personal stories, but who couldn't resist just once). ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
