Diane, TTN is "Transient Tachypnea Neonatorum", and the mother's description is correct. Causes are varied, but it is a not uncommon phenomenon in babies born by c/s. If they are monitoring baby's oxygen saturation, and noting a drop to dangerous levels during feedings, then I can see limiting time at breast ( and would expect that baby is being gavage fed to prevent aspiration), otherwise I don't see the benefit of limiting feedings to 10 min every 4 hours. It is likely they are gavage feeding between nursings. Mary A.
