Hi All.

I have been following this thread with considerable interest. I
have long thought that some sort of labeling standards needed to
be applied to honey. However I don't want those standards
enforces by big brother. as someone has already pointed out,
production cost would increase considerably.

There is another boogieman just waiting for honey to become to
expensive for most buyers. It's call "Honey Product" and can be
sold under any trade name. I have tasted some and it is very
close to the taste of pure honey. It contains some honey, other
sweeteners, artificial flavor artificial color. As far as I
know, this product is legal so long as it is not labeled as pure
honey. At present you can go to the grocery and buy cheese
product, fruit juice that is not 100% juice and many other
imitation products.

At present, consumers are still buying pure honey even given the
recent price increases.

I don't know where the answer lies, but I think there need to be
some improvement. However I would rather see these changes
brought about by the industry rather than the government.
